Edinburgh, possibly my new all-time favourite city.
For years the city of Edinburgh has been on my list of places to visit, but I just hadn’t gotten round to it for some reason. So on Sunday morning, I hopped on the train and made my way to Scotland.
Arriving in Edinburgh, I felt the fresh, cold air hit me, almost immediately, but I loved it. A busy station, suitcases everywhere, and train departures being announced, I could already feel the city vibe.
If you’ve followed me for a while, you’ll know that I’m definitely more of a city person, I love the hustle and bustle of cities and the atmosphere that comes with it.
I stayed at the Doubletree by Hilton on Bread Street as it was a last minute trip, but to my surprise, once I had checked in, I was given a free, complimentary cookie! Win, win!
I dropped my suitcase off in my room and off I went to explore the city. The hotel was around a ten minute walk to the castle so this was my first place of interest.
I was amazed by the beautiful architecture and to an extent, couldn’t believe that I was literally looking at Edinburgh castle, it was overwhelming to say the least, but a perfect photo spot!
After a stroll down the Royal Mile, I made my way to Princes Street, I mean come on, a fashion blogger always has to visit the shopping district right?
I cut my first evening short due to the cold, snowy weather, but was awoken by the glorious sunshine the next morning! So I headed straight to Princes Street to grab some breakfast, and then had a casual stroll around the touristy areas of the city.
My second day was mainly filled with popping in and out of tourist shops, visiting the main attractions, and of course, trying to embrace the Scottish culture as much as I could, although I am still yet to try the famous haggis!
All in all, I thoroughly enjoyed my time in Edinburgh, and I’m honestly quite sad that I’ve had to leave so soon!
